The need of the hour is to save, reuse and reduce wastage of water. As we all know like water can give lives, water can also take lives. Every summer we hear that so many cities have been hit by drought, so what can be done to save water? We can save water, we can do rain water harvesting, instead of letting the water go down the drain we can set up a system to collect the rain water in our societies, areas, etc.
With the increase in population and the city limits, there is a critical rise in the waste generated in the city as well.We all know that the city is growing and with this we are also facing problems with regards to the dumping of the waste generated. The municipal corporation is trying all the various measures to reduce the dumping of waste. To help the municipal corporation in this crisis we have taken up a plan of segregation.
We cannot avoid the use of water but we can surely reuse the water. The water used to wash utensils; bathe or even washcloths can be used for flushing or in the garden area, but using this water directly would not be possible due to the waste in it. This water can be made usable with the help of some treatments. There is a process; this process helps us clean the black and grey water for reuse. The process begins with screening which is removing or solid wastes mixed with water e.g. Stones, leaves, wood, etc. after screening, pumping is done as the process is done with the help of gravity. Then the water goes through the process of aerating, where the sewage is exposed to air, which removes the dissolved gasses and odor from the water.
The word 'home' has a different meaning for each one of us. It is a place of self-expression, a place of nurturance and sociability. It constitutes together with a family and binds it closer with time. Until one does not get the particular home vibe from a location, it is next to impossible to actually settle in. For many on the other hand, converting a house into a home is a hobby and also a symbol of oneself! Each one of us has a different need and image of our home in our minds; some want a small cozy flat and some prefer a lavish double storied bungalow set in a lush green area. These needs and demands are mostly segregated on the basis of one’s financial allowance. In today’s lifestyle where there are sudden changes in the demographics, geography and mindset of individuals, having a place where one belongs has become more of a necessity than just a status symbol!
